Frequently Asked Questions

Can my workplace sponsor the event?
Absolutely! We have unique sponsorship opportunities available at a variety of levels. Check out our Chair Affair Sponsorship Packet.

Where is the event?
Chair Affair will be hosted at AVENUE Portland, the same venue as last year. It’s a beautiful ADA accessible space just down the road from our NE Portland furniture bank, with plenty of public transportation and street parking available.

What else can I expect at the event?
Delicious dinner, hosted bar, inspiring videos and speakers, beautiful hand-painted children’s chairs, and a variety of ways to support our mission!

What are the Children’s Chairs?
Volunteer artists transform once-discarded chairs into whimsical, child-themed pieces for kids visiting our furniture banks. Children’s Chairs will be available for sponsorship before and during Chair Affair, with a selection on display for guests to enjoy. Learn more or sign up as an artist here.

Are there other ways I can get involved?
In addition to attending, donating, or sponsoring the event, please share any stories, videos, and photos throughout the 25-year history of Community Warehouse for us to incorporate into the event! Email phil@communitywarehouse.org with your submissions.

Who can I reach out to if I have more questions?
Contact Fran DiFiore at development@communitywarehouse.org or call 503-235-8786 ext. 1007.

Children’s Chair Project

Prior to Chair Affair, local artists transform castoff chairs into beautiful, creative works of art. Businesses and individuals are invited to sponsor children’s chairs for $500 each. This project supports our mission, while centering the dignity, autonomy, and joy of our littlest furniture bank visitors.

The whimsical chairs will be displayed at Chair Affair for guests to view and enjoy. After the event, the chairs will return to our Warehouses, where children visiting the furniture bank with their family can pick out their very own one-of-a-kind chair.

Thank you to our incredible 2026 Children’s Chair artists!

Chair Affair is so much fun for me. It really has touched my life in ways I can’t express, but mostly it lends credibility to my struggle to emerge as an artist (art school after 50 ain’t easy). PLUS, it’s all for Community Warehouse and the work that you do is important to our community.”
