I turned sixty last year. No fear...just sixty. In those 22,000 plus full days of my life so far, I have been filled with finding, sharing, formalizing and fretting about my next move. As a result, my work from the studio collectively manifests itself as an impregnated fusion of stories about life. I like to tell stories visually.... steeping the viewer in endless layers of life's happenings and byproducts. I am a gatherer. Old Volvo wagons have hauled my stuff to my NW Portland basement that has been my art locker for the past 35 years storing histories of people gone by. My collage work deals with the intimate reality of these collected histories. I have an MFA on Painting and Drawing from Portland State University and have taught for many years at Portland State University, Hillsboro High school, the Haystack School, Sitka Center for Art and ecology and now Oregon College of Art and Craft. My work is represented in many public and private collections across the United States. I am currently represented by Beppu Wiarda Gallery in the Pearl District, Portland, Oregon.
