Rian Berry

Rian was born in Portland, Oregon in 1979. His early interest in visual arts led him to study under the French artist Marjorie Kennedy by age 7. Rian was inspired growing up on an old farm near Poverty Flats (Eastern Oregon). His current work explores the relationship between Poverty Flats and his exposure to various urban landscapes. Most of his paintings show the decay and weathering of structural surfaces; still remaining distant from any tangible subject matter. Rian's work has been shown in numerous group exhibitions over the past ten years. It is also on permanent display in Washington D.C. at the Federal building.

Rian currently resides and works in Seattle, Washington. In addition to painting, he is also the Creative Director for both "rian" and "Poverty Flats by rian" fashion labels.
