Barbara Eiswerth

Barbara Eiswerth is a studio artist, who works in a variety of two- and three-dimensional media. A product of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts with a long resumé of awards and exhibitions on both coasts, Barbara originally came to Oregon over 20 years ago on a residency with the Oregon College of Arts and Crafts. She remained after falling in love with the beauty of the natural setting and the connection of the human community to it. With the infinite variety of the land and its intimate relationship with water, the soul of the region infuses Barbara’s art with a lush, organic texture. While her early work involved enclosures and spatial concepts, her more recent series have returned to paper and paintings with a sculptural component.

Barbara has exhibited widely across the Pacific Northwest and her art is part of several public and private collections, including those of Princeton University, the Microsoft Corporation, and the Oregon Health Sciences University. Her collaborative bronze sculpture is the whimsical and much-loved centerpiece of the Children’s Library in Portland’s Multnomah Public Library. She has been a longtime resident of Portland and is an active member of the artist and arts community. Barbara enthusiastically supports the Community Warehouse and is thrilled that her art can contribute to this very worthy cause.
