Drew Evensen

Drew Evensen was introduced to the Chair Affair by his mother, Marian Evensen. The 2008 Chair Affair was the first year of contribution for both of them and became a collaborative effort with “You Are My Sunshine.” A porch style chair Drew crafted with a stylized image of a sun painted on the seat back by Marian.

A Portland, Oregon native, Drew grew up close to Mt. Tabor Park and appreciates the outdoors and all it has to offer. Drew has found a new interest in the Tiki style and history of the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s cocktail bars and Polynesian themed restaurants throughout the United States. This style will be reflected in his completed chair.

Drew’s background involves a degree in Graphic Design from Portland State University. He has construction experience working in remodeling and installing vinyl windows and doors for three and a half years in Portland. Drew enjoys creating and building functional and aesthetically pleasing pieces of art that can be enjoyed and used.
