Barbara Hart

Barbara Hart is an artist’s advocate, art consultant, and visual art curator. She offers businesses an opportunity to become associated with visual artists in a way that is mutually benefiting for both. Barbara knows that quality art is often found outside the safe arena of the art gallery, and that art patrons who limit themselves solely to the advise of the gallery owner, or the designer who favors art galleries, are missing good talent.

Barbara majored in art and art history in Southern California, and spent much of her time in the LA art scene. She began working with artists after moving to the Portland area in 2005. In addition to curation, Barbara works with developers to enhance their spaces with art, and offers art for sale or to lease. She is in the docent training program at the Portland Art Museum, and on the board of directors for the Portland Area Business Association.

This rocking chair was selected because it connotes a series of memories: comfort, shared experiences, a story told, a time to contemplate. The limited color palette used and the designs are inspired by Native American artisans.
