Andy Munson
My name is Andy Munson and I am from West Linn, Oregon. I grew up on a farm where my mom was an artist. She would design products, and my dad would sell them and take care of the business side of things. I have taken what I learned while growing up and applied it to my new company.
I specialize in functional and artistic coatings, usually applying them to firearms. Most of our finishes are camouflage, but we also meet customer requests to mimic snakeskin, barb wire and other patterns.
My spin-off of the coatings has been the development of glass etching. I intend to start a new company in 2009 to make interesting glasses and mugs.
At night, I work on different art projects for fun and for competition. Last year I made a basset hound out of Pabst Blue Ribbon Cans. It got first runner-up in the sculpture category of the nationwide Pabst Art Contest. This year I made a miniature version of the downtown Portland sign out of beer cans. I also spend evenings sewing flags with my camouflage sewing machine.
