Cathy Pitters

Cathy Pitters is a mom, artist and seamstress who lives is North Portland with her husband, 11-year-old son and two cats. She runs her business, BossaNovaBaby, out of her flamingo pink craft bunker and co-organizes Crafty Wonderland, a monthly art & craft event at the Doug Fir Lounge. She is also one forth of the women’s collective PDX Super Crafty, who recently wrote a how-to craft book entitled Super Crafty. In her spare time, Cathy can be found digging for treasure at thrift stores and drinking coffee.

Three years ago Cathy treated herself to a Japanese Gocco screen-printing machine and her life hasn’t been the same since. Inspired by vintage western wear, she combines screen-printing with hand guided machine stitching to create textural designs on things like vintage sweaters and skirts (and the occasional chair).
