Nikki Tracy

Nikki Tracy: I grew up in Marin County and took my first private art lesson at the age of 11 from none other than Grant Sherry, one of Bette Davis' husbands! Went on to get my B.A. Fine Arts from U.C. Davis and spent the next four years working as an artist at The Sacramento Bee as well as doing freelance graphic design work. My husband, two children and I moved to Portland in 1983 and I did a little freelance work, but focused on my family and painting for my own enjoyment.

In the early 90’s I opened my own studio offering private art lessons for children ages 6-14. It was the most satisfying and rewarding work I have ever had. Two years ago I closed up shop to enjoy free afternoons and my own painting, which I do purely for the fun of it.
