Ann Ott-Cooper
Ann holds a Fine Arts degree from University of North Colorado. She made a detour from school for a couple of years in Breckenridge where skiing became he other “major." After many moves across the country she has lived with her family in Portland since 1985. Ann has been the art teacher at Jackson Middle School for the last seventeen years. This opportunity of engaging students to learn and be accountable for their actions through the arts has also motivated her to teach teachers. Ott-Cooper has taught workshops at Lewis Clark College, Portland Art Museum and Young Audiences. She has been a national trainer for the Leonard Bernstein Foundation for the last ten years. Portland Public Schools awarded her the “Excellence in Education” award in 1998, and she received the “Sunburst” award from Young Audiences in 2000. There are no art materials she does not like to get her hands on which makes a perfect fit for being a middle school art teacher. |
