Lisa Pope
Lisa can not remember a time when art did not play a central role in her life. From drawing and painting as a child to making jewelry and reconstructing furniture as a young adult, her life was filled with a series of ever-changing arts and crafts projects. Lisa never met a form of art she didn’t like, and enjoyed experimenting with whatever medium struck her fancy.
“I enjoy the process of creating art. From sketching ideas to selecting materials and then constructing and watching a piece come alive. It has a very meditative quality. I love having the ability to completely lose myself in a project; in which time seems to stand still and the worries of the day magically melt away.“
Lisa was honored to be asked to participate in this year’s event, and is excitedly brainstorming with her 5 year old daughter on themes for prospective chairs.
When she is not busy wrangling her three small children, she can be found tinkering in the Metals Studio at the Oregon College of Arts and Crafts where she is currently working on her latest passion, jewelry design. |
