Sarah Small
My work and creative process speak to each other. I'm a psychotherapist with a specialty in long term group therapy where adults of different generations meet each week to share the emotionally significant stories of their lives. I've taken art classes around Portland for many years: Sculpture in clay, Stone, Bronze, Welding, Flora, Wood, and most recently Painting. The symbolic has found form in prayer bowls, poetry boats, deep keels, broken hearts, gates, a ladder, and now nests. The elemental materials reflect the immediate, significant moments in our souIs' journey thru life.
The chair I contribute will in some way be a 'nest', a place to incubate, protect, retreat, rest and gather strength and perhaps perspective. |
