Community Warehouse is excited to welcome Megan Smith, new Communications Director!

by Rena Satre Meloy, Outgoing Communications Director

Megan comes to the role with an extensive background in social services and journalism, as well as a long relationship with the agency.

“I first walked through the doors of the Community Warehouse in 2004 when I was a case manager with Transition Projects. I’ve been a champion of the mission ever since,” says Megan.

Megan went on to serve as a volunteer and board member, while working as a housing advocate at Neighborhood House and program coordinator at Bradley Angle. She also spent several years in Guadalajara, Mexico, where she was a reporter. Most recently, she has volunteered with the Welcome Home Coalition and Street Roots.

“After holding this role for six and a half years, I feel delighted to hand the baton to Megan,” explains Rena Satre Meloy, outgoing Communications Director. “Megan brings an exceptional breadth and depth of experience, a buoyant and determined energy, and a palpable love for our mission to this position. This is a very exciting time for Community Warehouse. We are poised to launch our next phase of growth through a Five Year Strategic Plan (2018-2022) and we are confident Megan will lead with great tenacity and heart.”

Megan will assume her new role on January 2nd. “I believe we have a hopeful story to tell about our community’s generous spirit and desire to ensure that everyone can make a house a home,” says Megan. “I’m committed to strengthening our community relationships as we work together to support stability for all of our neighbors.”
